Usually the last weekend in October, along the barren weather beaten coastal lines of north Scotland, can be viewed upon as the signal for the onset of cold, wet weather, coupled with the unavoidable commence of shorter days edging in. Not if you are into surfing, that is ... October in Thurso can deliver some world class waves, in which this years UK Pro Surf Tour received on Sunday 27th.

Coupled with the vivid beauty of colours that Autumn's sky and landscape offer, I wanted to capture and depict how surfers harvest this time of year; hungry for that perfect wave, where pure passion leads them in search of that one wave - allowing a cleansing of the mind, body and soul. That wave where it just makes perfect sense to be right there and then, generating a longing desire for more and more of that state of feeling alive. Only a feeling fellow devotees can interpret.

Everyone there that day was feeding off the surfers excitement to get in the water, as each big set came rolling in - a buzz was in the air!

This was a new experience for me, as filming (let alone filming surfers) is new territory for me. I was very lucky to be provided with great dynamic conditions. Good times!
