Soldiers march through Dumbarton
Thursday, December 11, 2008 Approx four hundred and fifty Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders celebrated their safe return from Afghanistan with a historic parade through Dumbarton Town Centre.
The regiment has the freedom of Dumbarton, and marched across the bridge and through crowds in Dumbarton High Street.
The troops were led by pipers and drummers and their regimental mascot, a Shetland pony.
Assembled dignitaries were saluted - including army officers, Lord Lieutenant Donald Ross and West Dunbartonshire Provost Denis Agnew before gathering for a celebratory reception in the towns Burgh Hall.
