Simon Gall

Simon Gall is a musician, composer and arranger from Aberdeen, Scotland. He performs, tours and records with a number of ensembles including celebrated Scottish band Salsa Celtica, Glasgow-based Salsonique! (formerly Son al Son) and north east folk-inspired group Clype. With these, and other projects he has appeared on TV and radio channels such as the BBC, France 24, Señal Colombia and has performed at well-known festivals such as Celtic Connections, the Hay Festival in Colombia, Glastonbury Festival, Edinburgh International Festival and the Helsinki Festival.

More recently Simon received a ‘Made In Aberdeen’ bursary award which was used to develop his duo with Old Blind Dogs fiddler Jonny Hardie. Their first album will be released in June 2015.

Jonny Hardie

Jonny Hardie was brought up in Aberdeenshire - an area of Scotland culturally rich in ballads and fiddle tunes. At the age of eight Jonny started playing fiddle. After leaving school he studied viola at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester. Jonny then returned to Aberdeen to concentrate on traditional music and soon became involved in various local bands. It was during this time that Old Blind Dogs were formed, along with Ian Benzie and Buzzby McMillan.

Over the last decade Jonny has toured extensively with Old Blind Dogs and has been involved with a variety of projects including theatre and production work.
