A Hundred Ships taken from Ivan's recent CD, Bless The Wind.
Ivan wrote this song many years ago when he lived in Easter Ross, in the Scottish Highlands. While there he heard many stories of people being thrown off their land to make way for sheep. The Highland Clearances were a bleak time and many people in America and Canada are descendents of families who were thrown out of their homes by cruel landlords, like the Duke of Sutherland....His statue sits atop a hill in Sutherland, looking down on the empty lands and his beautiful castle, Dunrobin Castle. Many Highland people want to see this statue removed.
