Kelso, Scottish Borders
Featured video
Description
A very pleasant and elegant town which was remodelled in the 18th century. As will be seen from the video,, the centre is mainly comprised of a wide cobbled square. Close by are the ruins of Kelso Abbey which was destroyed by the English in 1545. The town sits on the banks of the River Tweed along which it is possible to sit or have a gentle stroll.
About 1 mile from Kelso is the stunning Floors Castle, home to the Duke of Roxburgh and the largest inhabited house in Scotland.
