This is a song about John Craig who was a Scottish Covenanting minister and military leader . It was normal for ministers to be leaders of the covenanter's . Which wasn't the best idea as most never had any formal training . They where by and large up against Seasoned military leaders with great experience leading to many battles being lost ., but their faith won in the end with the arrival of William Prince Of Orange and the Glorious Revolution . Eventually giving them all the rights which they had fought and died for .
