In October 2011 the Global Energy Group completed the historic purchase of Nigg yard which has now been rebranded as Nigg Energy Park. Since then the yard has developed quickly, creating a real sense Energy Park.

Since then the yard has developed quickly, creating a real sense of economic progress in the area. Where is this leading however and what can we expect over the coming years in terms of development?

A skills academy, business and employment opportunities and a huge boost for the local economy have all been heralded as key benefits. But past opportunities in North Sea oil fabrication have arrived in the area then faded.

Will this be different? Alastair Kennedy, from the GE group, will be telling us why he thinks the future is bright, not just in the short term but for years to come, providing an insight into future developments at the park.
